Spreadsheets for economics teaching

Hi!  My colleagues might tell you that I just like placing tasks involving spreadsheets wherever I can. It is only partially true. Knowing how to use spreadsheets are is a major skill we can teach our students. And the bonus part: they are great for learning economics concepts.  I love using Google Sheets with (very simple) equations to understand the workings of different content and generate charts to better visualize them.   I have been adding them in this website (even if it is not really updated :$).  I will also be posting them here. Use this keyword to find all the publications about it.   --- Continue navigating around to see the other resources I am sharing in this blog, from quizzes to lesson plans.  Click here for  quizzes  on the IB economics course.  Click here for online slides to support your economics lessons. Where can I find Quizzes about IB economics?

Quizzes are a great way to track your students learning. It will not tell you much about depth of learning, but you will certainly be able to keep track of their understanding of a topic. Use it during a lesson to check for understanding or at the beginning of a lesson to check if they came prepared and ensure that flipped techniques will work.  I have been using quizizz as it allows students to have the questions on their own devices and to make a quiz from a spreadsheet. Doing from spreadsheets is much easier for typing the questions, specially when you have repeated answer alternatives in low stake quizzes. It also allow you to ask your students to come up with questions for the quiz, that you collect with a google form and then... it is as simple as a copy and paste.  Here you can find the quizzes I have created for economics. They are 95% target at IB level, but there are also MYP quizzes about introductory topics.  I have quizzes for microeconomics, macroeconomics, ...
